Join us for, “Silenced Democracy,” with investigative journalist and Case Western Reserve University Journalism Professor Ted Gup.

Gup will examine the culture of secrecy that has moved beyond the government and into other American institutions. During his talk, Gup will provide examples of how excessive secrecy has challenged our nation’s ideals of democracy.

Gup’s books, “Nation of Secrets: The Threat to Democracy and the American Way of Life” and “The Book of Honor: Covert Lives & Classified Death at the CIA,” will be available for purchase at the program.

Ted Gup is a former staff writer for the Washington Post and Time magazine. He has been a Pulitzer Prize finalist and has received many honors including the Book of the Year Award from Investigative Reporters and Editors.
