At the VP debate, there will be four feeder marches converging at the free speech zone at CWRU. Here is the flyer for the We Are #1 March, focusing on the needs of the poorest big city in the US.
Print and distribute this flyer! There are other marches that will appeal more to activists -- this one should draw more Cleveland residents who think the situation in this city and country isn't alright!

Full text of flyer:
WE ARE #1!
- Cleveland #1 in Poverty!
“More than 31% of population below poverty line”
- Cleveland #3 in Racial Segregation!
“Cleveland in top 5 for over 20 years”
- Cleveland #1 in Child Poverty!
“Over 51% of Cleveland’s children live in poverty”
Unemployment High, Services Low!
- Large growth in Home Foreclosures!
- Shelters fall to worst conditions in a decade!
- Homelessness increasing!
The Vice Presidential Debate is in Cleveland, but will any of the candidates talk about issues important to the poorest city in the U.S? No -- both the dems and the republicans are representatives for the owners of the places we work, not for those that work there (John Edwards, Kerry’s VP, supports tax breaks for his own company, while Dick Cheney hands out no-bid contracts to his company, Haliburtotn). The candidates know what’s important to us, but they waste our time talking about their military records! They need to be told this isn’t acceptable, and the debate needs to be focused on OUR needs!
Questions: Are any of the candidates offering any plan for the millions out-of-work and under-served in this country? (No -- it‘s a blame game!)
How are we paying for the “war on terror”? (Cuts to Section 8, Education, TANF, Head Start, WIC, and Veterans’ Care!)
