Dozens of Clevelanders gathered downtown Friday to remember family and friends murdered by police, and demand justice.

The rally started at Public Square and marched on the “Justice Center” to voice their protest. Once there they delivered their demands by bullhorn to the police and judges behind the buildings glass.
Outside of the center, protesters were watched by three police officers, including one that was more concerned with playing with a rubber ball than meeting the demands of the people the are sworn to protect and serve.
The crowd then headed over to city hall, home of mayor “Queen Jane” Campbell. There was no response from city hall other than having three plain-clothes police watch and videotape them.

Instead of heading to City Hall, why not head to the schools where they can assist the teachers, the children that may, god forbid, be the next victim of violence? This is a great country where we can protest but after the protest, instead of going home in a feel-good mood, these folks would get my attention by trying to better the community.
Ummmm....

We do. I already am a high school educator, and so are several other people in the activist community. Pretty much all of us spend the majority of our time doing social justice and community work. We protest when there's a serious problem going unaddressed (e.g., police brutality), but pretty much all of us have dedicated our lives to doing social justice work, and our daily schedules reflect that.
Wasn't Aware

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware you had to do a certain amount of community work if you want to protest the police wrongfully killing a friend or loved one. Wake up. If the cops wrongfully killed YOUR husband, and someone told you "community service" was required to protest your husband's murder, you'd tell them to fuck off. You don't have to be a teacher to deserve justice for murder or brutality.
Geez, you'd almost think people have a RIGHT to not be murdered. I don't know what you think protesting is or how protesters feel, but NO ONE went home with a "good feeling". They went home pissed and disgusted that so many people won't get justice. That's the whole point of the protest. It not a party, it's a group of people who see injustice so extreme they feel obligated to speak out against it, often even risking arrest and assault.
Fighting police brutality IS community service work, by the way. You'd know this if you lived in a community that had to deal with police harrassment and brutality on a daily basis. Children seem to have a tough time getting "educated" when they've already been labeled as criminals by the police.

Police Brutality is a bunch of BULLSHIT! Try to report the FACTS for once! Can you do that? And racist cops?! They are few and far between. Let me tell you something about rascism and discrimination. I have 4 bullet holes in my cruiser. 4 BULLET HOLES! I wasn't shot at because of my skin color...both myself and the shooter are BLACK AMERICANS! He shot at me because I wear BLUE! I wear a BADGE. I never met the guy before the incident...and he SHOT AT ME! All because of my uniform. So you want to report on discrimination? How about interviewing some cops, MY BROTHERS, about being shot at because of their UNIFORM! NOT THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN! Finally, I ask that you REPORT FACTS! REPORT THE NEWS! DON'T "MAKE" NEWS!
C'mon

This is an article about unarmed people cops have murdered, and you're bitching that you have a couple bullet holes in your cruiser? Please. The people cops have murdered were not only KILLED, but they didn't VOLUNTARILY CHOOSE a job that puts people in cages for victimless crimes (i.e., giving people a reason to shoot you).
Even if racist cops ARE few and far between, the only reason they exist AT ALL is because their FELLOW COPS don't report them, lie for them, and allow their behavior to continue. That's called being an ACCESORY, pig. Go get an honest job, fuckhole.

I am a 41 year old grandmother who called for help and ended up brutally attacked arrested and stripped thrown in a cell with no clothes and a concussion and broken nose. Part of me says they wanted me to die and why I was not allowed to go to the hospital. I sat suffering with nothing but the cold water to run over my busted nose until they booked me 6 hours later and gave me my phone call. 6 cops surrounded and stripped me
6!!! For Gods sake will any of them fess up, you already know the answer. There are no good cops from my experience that night. Hiding behind the bad cops to keep their jobs and attempt in living their career out is what they are all thinking.
Serve and protect, oh yes...each other.
