The projectionists have always been involved in the Cleveland Film Festival, and should continue to be a part of the event.
This is an update on the situation arising with the Cleveland International Film Festival – set to begin Thursday March 10th. Today we are asking you to CALL JON FORMAN and tell him to RESOLVE THIS DISPUTE between the union and the Festival IMMEDIATELY.
Today, the projectionists union received a letter from the County Commissioners telling them that the Commissioners were in full support of their campaign to work the Film Festival. The County Commissioners have also sent a letter to Jon Forman urging him to sit down with the union and allow them to work the Festival.
This does NOT solve the long-standing problems between Forman and the union, but it DOES fix the immediate problem of drawing the Festival into their fight. If Jon Forman does not come to the table by Thursday so that the projectionists can work the Festival, then the union is prepared to get their message to the public and festival participants. Stay tuned to Cleveland Indymedia for any action updates
Here is how you can help RIGHT NOW: Call Jon Forman and tell him to play ball. The projectionists have always been involved in the Cleveland Film Festival, and should continue to be a part of the event. Tell him you support good jobs for Clevelanders, or that your attendance at the festival depends on his actions. Tell him why you are so worked up about this issue.
