In Mike Ferner's Counterpunch Article, based on his remarks in Columbus on March 19th, and in Cleveland on March 20th, he describes painting over 1700 wooden tombstones. Check out the pictures of Arlington Midwest.
Columbus: Two Marches and a Rally
In Sandusky, 30 gathered to read the names of 3,000 U. S.
troops, multinational forces, journalists, contractors, and
international aid workers. Iraqi fallen were represented by 30,000
dots on page after page.
200 rallied in Youngstown to hear Contientious Objector Kevin
Benderman, who faces a court martial for desertion on May 11.
190 marched through the streets of Akron against Iraq war, repression,
& recruiting

About 50 people braved the chilling rain Sunday to make their voices
heard against the U.S. occupation of Iraq, which marked its second
year Saturday.
The weekend display on the grassy hills of the University of Toledo
campus mimicked the look of Arlington National Cemetery with its white
wooden tombstones erected in long rows. In the background, visitors to
the temporary memorial could hear an organizer call out the names of
the dead, one by one.
In Cincinnati 400 people braved the stormy weather for a spirited
peace rally. It was a phenomenal turn out for such a dreary day-cold,
wet, downpours at times, thunder, lightning, the works! As the sound
tech from Cincinnati Recreation Center said, "Wow! Usually when it
rains, people just leave and we go home early, but these committed
folks stayed to the end." Thanks to all who came out in the downpour,
all who participated in vigils, all who were there in spirit, all who
spread the word!!

Although the weather was a bit chilly and windy, we had approximately
40 people turn out for the peace rally in Cambridge, Ohio. Father Bob
Borer, St. Benedict's Catholic Church, gave an invocation and led the
attendees in prayer, "We need to be very conscious of our obligations
as a Christian nation and a Christian people and of what we doing
throughout the world."
Peace vigil and letter-writing.
