(Altman had a lot of experience in TV during an era when art was possible. the two greatest Altman's for me are M*A*S*H and Three Women. i've seen a bunch of other films of his that were ok, but not as good as those two.
i didn't like 'Short Cuts' at all. With it Altman pioneered a form of filmmaking that is becoming prevalent today. no, i don't think Altman was one of Them, either.
M*A*S*H is particularly a great film.)

pay close attention to the final scenes. this is definitely a noteworty finish.
Yerma offers a revealing look at the instinct most of us have to reproduce, along with the agonies of failing. there's enormous depth here.)
